b. 1980

I am an artist based in Athens – Greece.

I suspect listening is a practice of being repeatedly undone. Rather than taking it as a given, I return to the conditions that make it possible and ask how bodies, voice, vibration, architectures, technologies continually shape one another. I grow long-term artistic inquiries through sustained attention to the ordinary and its oral cultures with persistent focus on noise and the acousmatic experience.

I work in small gestures and across media, alone and in collaboration, probing the space between art and the everyday.

In 2010, I co-founded Rekem Records together with Aggelos Theodorou and Nicolas Malevitsis, releasing records in physical format with sound works stemming from practices in sound art, field recording, and experimental and electronic music, and their intersections. Kostis Kilymis joined the label shortly after and has been co-running it together with us ever since.

In 2021, I completed my PhD, “Sound and Listening in the Athenian Apartment Building (Polykatoikia) as Artistic Practice“, at the Athens School of Fine Arts. I also hold an MFA in Public Art and New Artistic Strategies from Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (2010) and a BFA in Painting from the Athens School of Fine Arts (2006).

Currently I work as an adjunct lecturer at the Athens School of Fine Arts, teaching the course Art, City, Sound. We explore the artistic practices that emerge with urban sonorities in Athens.

Grateful for every moment and thank you for visiting my website.
